This one-of-a-kind piano class is designed to make learning piano fun, approachable, and engaging—especially for beginners. Drawing from years of teaching experience and mentorship under some of the world’s finest instructors, this method focuses on removing the overwhelm that causes many students to quit early on.
Instead of jumping straight into reading music while coordinating both hands and the pedal (a common source of frustration for beginners), this method breaks learning down into manageable, focused steps. Students build foundational skills gradually, while also learning music that’s fun and rewarding to play—keeping motivation high and progress steady.
Our group lesson format offers a dynamic and collaborative learning environment that individual piano lessons often lack. Students benefit from peer support, ensemble-style activities, and a more engaging musical experience overall.
Classes are held once a week, with daily home practice encouraged to reinforce skills learned in class.
About the Instructor
Vilate Ssempala began her piano journey at age 9 and started teaching students by 16. At 18, she began her Suzuki piano teacher training under Cleo Brimhall while also teaching music at Deseret Academy. She continued her advanced training with Elaine Worley in Idaho, and at 21, she was invited to perform in an international friendship concert in Japan. Inspired by that experience, Vilate returned to Japan to study directly under Master Teacher Haruko Kataoka, one of the original developers of the Suzuki piano method.
After taking time off to raise her family, Vilate is thrilled to return to teaching and share her passion for piano with the next generation of musicians.
